Writer Elizabeth Davis should get a special Webby Award for the most Internet/Nerd references in a single TV script: website subscription, Jedi, iPod, VOIP, head explode, Craigslist, YouTube, IP anonymizer, pinged, white rabbit — Lewis Carroll or The Matrix, and Obi-wan were among the stand-outs.
The lost opportunity! The father was made to seem like a self-indulgent eejit. It would have helped if he’d said his paintings were gaining some followers. Castle could have made the point about rejection in his own early writing career, giving the poor father some sympathy. It’s hard to see where that would have fit into the script, however. Maybe an allusion to this case in a future episode?

The next episode is the tenth and season finale. There’s still no word at post time if ABC will renew the series. Given that they canceled the eejitastic remake of Cupid, they should now have production money left over to bring Castle back. It’s one of only three hours of TV I watch every week.
